Readings for the first class in Quantum Psychology will illustrate a broad range of concepts housed in a garment of irridescent cloth; everyone sees a suit of a different color, but is convinced that the suit fits their ideas perfectly.
Fred Allen Wolf is a particularly favorite physicist of mine. I became introduced to Fred in the book How the Hippies Saved Physics (see book list) and he immediately became a favorite character in the plot. Not because he was such a brilliant physicist (which he was), but because he was so flawed and so human. I couldn't help identifying with him, especially after learning his alter ego was "Doctor Quantum".
So here in this first reading we have Fred trying his best to impress a prestigious gathering of Psychiatrists with his quantum insights into their medical specialty. As long as he stays in familiar territory he swims along smoothly, but when he ventures into explaining the molecular biology of consciousness, he splashes and flounders. Thankfully, Larry Dossey is there in a commentary to Fred's paper to rescue him and restore some of his stature.
You can read Al Freedman's introduction to Fred's paper, Fred's paper, Larry's commentary, and Dick Restak's comments at the following link:

Don't be put off by the math here, you can skip it without losing much. And don't get hung up in the molecular biology either. The important point is to appreciate the breadth and scope of the gulf that he attempts to swim.
In case you aren't familiar with Larry Dossey's resume, he's gracious enough to provide us with a taste of one in the following link:

I was particularly impressed with his views in the following article sketched from his most recent book:
Why Consciousness is Not the Brain by Larry Dossey
Enjoy,
Stan
